A Star In Our Midst
We were thrilled to welcome Cardiff Rugby flanker James Botham to our workshop recently. As passionate supporters of Cardiff Rugby, with our corporate box at Cardiff Arms Park, it's always special to work with the players who represent our city on the pitch. James, grandson of cricket legend Sir Ian Botham, has established himself as a formidable force in Welsh rugby, having represented both Cardiff Rugby and the Wales national team. When he approached Popin Graphics for a complete vehicle transformation, we were eager to deliver a custom wrap that would match his bold personality and athletic prowess.
Ford Performance
James brought in his Ford Ranger Raptor, an impressive vehicle even before our team got their hands on it. The Raptor, Ford's high-performance pickup, came to us in its original Blue Metallic finish—a handsome colour in its own right, but James was looking for something more distinctive and personalised. The Ranger Raptor's rugged frame and powerful stance provided the perfect canvas for a dramatic transformation. With its imposing dimensions and muscular body lines, this vehicle demanded a wrap that would enhance its already commanding presence on Welsh roads.
Materials To Match Performance
Our expert installation team performed a full coverage wrap using premium 3M 2080 Matte Military Green film as the primary colour. This tactical-inspired shade perfectly complements the Raptor's aggressive styling and off-road capabilities, whilst providing a sophisticated matte finish that stands out from typical glossy vehicle finishes seen around Cardiff and South Wales. For the custom details and accents, we utilised digitally printed 3M IJ280 film, allowing us to incorporate bespoke elements that lean to James's personal life and usage of the vehicle. The combination of these high-performance 3M wrap films ensures durability against the Welsh elements, with excellent resistance to UV fading, minor abrasions, and daily wear.
Mean Machine
The transformation of James Botham's Ford Ranger Raptor is nothing short of spectacular. What was once a standard Blue Metallic pickup has been converted into a head-turning custom vehicle that perfectly represents James's powerful presence both on and off the rugby pitch.
