Award-Winning Design: Mad Dog Brewery Collaboration
Crafting a Bespoke Design
Working closely with Mad Dog Brewery, the team at Popin utilised existing branding in combination with new styles and patterns to create a truly bespoke vehicle wrap that screamed Mad Dog and made sure everyone knew it!
Material Selection: Utilising 3M's Leading Films
Enhancing Visual Impact
Wrapped in a combination of 3M's leading films, Popin utilised the benefits and impressive performance of both 3M IJ180mc and the immense, reflective 3M IJ780mc for a result that really pops! Utilising the non-reflective 3M IJ180mc, a base pattern was established combining both poly art and wave patterns that feature on the brewery beer can designs of the favourite beverages.
Reflective Accents: Bringing the Design to Life
Adding Vibrant Details
For the icing on the cake, Popin utilised the IJ780c to create vibrant reflective elements on all the key features of the cars design such as the light surrounds, logos and even the Mad Dog's eyes and teeth!
Vehicle Spotlight: The Renault Clio V6
A Monster Of The Road
The V6 was first revealed at the Paris motor show in October '98. There was a big reaction and everyone went crazy saying Renault had to do it. Amazingly, before the year was out Renault had contacted Tom Walkinshaw Racing through a past connection between Tom and Christian Contzen, who was the boss of Renault Sport. This led to TWR being awarded a three-month pre-study phase to build some demonstrators and prove they could have a road car that was convincing enough to get the project decided.
The Clio V6 was based on the Clio Mk II, though it shares very few parts with that car. The 3.0 60° V6 ES9 engine, sourced from the PSA group was upgraded to around 230 PS (169 kW; 227 bhp) and placed in the middle of the vehicle where standard Clios have rear seats - making this car a two-seater hot hatch.
Driving Experience: Raw Power and Performance
Unleashing the Beast
The raw sound and weight of the V6 engine just behind the driver and RWD made the driving experience very different from the normal front-engine, front-wheel-drive car. There were 1,631 production cars built in total between 2001 and 2002.
